Hello fellow Hunters and Mavericks! Hope all is well!
Version 0.4 of the 21XX Foundation Guide has replaced Version 0.3 on the 21XX Website as of Friday, March 29th, 2024. Be sure to download the new version, and delete any old versions of the Foundation Guide PDFs, as they will be outdated for any material printed further. We've had a few formatting changes, stat corrections, and some rules changes. Be sure to read the changelog at page 268 of the Foundation Guide! We've also updated the 21XX Character Builder to reflect the changes in Version 0.4, and corrected a few bugs from the prior build, so be sure to fiddle around in the builder and see what new combinations you can do! We apologize for the lack of community newsletters in the last few months. Many of the CtrlAltCrit staff have been undergoing some massive life changes. Sean is working hard on renewing his residency to remain in the United States, and what's even more exciting, he and Autumn are getting married later in the year! Marcus and Linell, and Mikael (to his fiancée Cynthia) have also become engaged as well, so marriages are happening all around in the Crit Fam! We'll have a return to form with three large community / developer submissions made in the month of April to offset the material you haven't seen since January, so we appreciate all the patience and support during this time. Given hefty formatting changes, stat corrections, and some rules changes, our changelog is going to be pretty robust, so be sure to take a look at the changes that occur between versions. Well, August has been pretty eventful in the Crit household! Lucca started fourth grade at her new school and we couldn’t be more proud of her. Her cheer team won first place at competition at the end of last month and she advanced to orange belt in Taekwondo this summer too. She blows us away with her capacity for growth and her ability to retain the silliest of information while still forgetting to wear her clothes the right way. That’s nine-year-olds I guess. She’ll be ten in December and we’re just not ready for her to be growing up so fast. Speaking of growing fast: Lucca found three abandoned kittens under our back porch this month. We waited for mom to come back around, but when she didn’t we took the babies in. It was just too hot outside to leave them. We got rid of their fleas and worms, cleaned them up and fattened them up and they are just growing like weeds! Initially we named them Hades, Zeus, and Zagreus following the trend of our older cat’s names (Poseidon and Athena), but we quickly found out that Zeus is in fact Megara, and Zagreus is Persephone. Persephone has found her forever home with a lovely cat-mom and we’re waiting to find another cat-parent for either Hades or Megara. We are also once again annoyed to report that our AC went out. We spent about four days in sweltering heat before someone could get out to fix the issue. Thank goodness for fans and ice packs. As many of you know we’re implementing quite a few changes to how CtrlAltCrit functions - this is due in part to a delightful rearrange of our house! We are down a roommate and didn’t feel pressured to get another anytime soon, so we have an extra room. Sean and Autumn took that room as their bedroom and the master room is now being used as an office and gaming space! All five members of the house (including Lucca) have a desk-space and it has made working on our many projects that much easier. September will no doubt bring more positive changes to the Crit House, and hopefully some cooler weather. 21XX FOUNDATION GUIDE UPDATE The 21XX Public Foundation Guide has been updated to Version 0.2! Those who download it to Playtest Today will be linked to the updated version of the book. We've added a new Changelog on Page 279 of the Foundation Guide. This will allow Players and Operators to see where buffs, nerfs, or revisions have taken place. Note: The Changelog mentions updates to our online Character Builder, which are currently still in development, and will be made available sometime by the end of August. WEBSITE UPDATE / MONTHLY NEWSLETTER COMING SOON We’ve got some exciting updates planned for the 21XX RPG website in September, coupled with the release of our new monthly newsletter! With the 21XX Newsletter, you'll receive inside scoops from our developers, editorials on experiences we've had during the development process, convention or event exclusive deals, curated fan developed content, and exclusive equipment/lore not found in any other sourcebook. We seek to have the 21XX Newsletter function much like a classic TTRPG magazine would, giving our community a cool space to geek out. The Newsletter will be accessible from both our blog, and via Email to those who registered via our surveys. You can expect the release of this Newsletter on September 4th. If you have found this game for the first time, I'm happy to finally unveil our first public release for 21XX - The Mega Man X TTRPG! We've been working steadily on this project for four years now, and the journey just to get to where we are now has been both humbling and gratifying. With the release of our Foundation Guide, you can experience a large chunk of Classic Mega Man and Mega Man X era content. Mega Man 1, Mega Man X1, and Mega Man Xtreme comprises our Foundation Guide release, and given the dozens of Mega Man games that exist, we've only showcased a fraction of what we have planned for the system. The CtrlAltCrit Patrons can already attest to that. If you're interested in playing this game with other Mega Man fans, but aren't sure where to start, be sure to Download the TTRPG here, and click the link in our front page to join our community Discord, where myself and other 21XX OPERATORS run casual games as often as possible!
